The Charles Darwin University Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic period offers financial assistance to international students. It supports undergraduate, master’s, PhD, and training programs. This scholarship includes two categories of fully funded awards and four categories of partially funded awards, which cover a maximum of 50% of the tuition costs.

The array of Charles Darwin University Scholarships includes:

  1. Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships (VCIHAS): These scholarships are available for undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees, offering coverage of either 50% or 25% of the tuition fees throughout the entire course duration.
  2. CDU Global Excellence Award: These scholarships apply to undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees, providing 50% coverage of the tuition fees for the first year and 10% for subsequent years.
  3. CDU Global Leader Award: These scholarships are applicable to undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees, offering 25% coverage of the tuition fees for the first year and 10% thereafter.
  4. CDU Global Achiever Award: These scholarships are for undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees, providing 15% coverage of the tuition fees for the first year of study.
  5. Vocational Education and Training (VET) Distinction Scholarship: This scholarship is specifically for Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications, offering a one-time payment of $3,000 towards the first year’s tuition fee.
  6. Higher Degree by Research Scholarships: These scholarships are fully funded.
  7. Northern Territory Scholarships: These scholarships recognize students’ academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement. They are available for Higher Education – undergraduate and postgraduate ($12,000) and contribute towards the students’ tuition fees.

Requirements and Eligibility for Charles Darwin University Scholarships

To be eligible for a Charles Darwin University Scholarship, you must:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
  2. Be a citizen of any country around the globe.
  3. Present evidence of outstanding academic performance and achievements in prior relevant studies and credentials. Meet the academic and English language entry criteria set by the University.
  4. Have received an offer of admission to a program at CDU.
  5. Not be a recipient of a scholarship from an Australian or foreign funding organization.
  6. Not hold current citizenship status as an Australian, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand citizen.

To retain the scholarship:

  1. Enroll in a full-time course load of 40 credit points each semester.
  2. Settle any remaining tuition balance prior to the start of each semester; the scholarship funds will be directly applied to your student account within two weeks after the census date of each semester.
  3. Sustain satisfactory academic performance throughout your CDU degree, maintaining a minimum GPA of 5.3 and avoiding failing grades in any subject.
  4. Note that the scholarship cannot be exchanged for cash, refunded, or transferred to another individual, course, or academic year.
  5. Ensure that you are paying international fees and not domestic fees.
  6. Obtain prior approval from the Office of International Services before withdrawing from or taking a leave of absence from any units or the course of study.
  7. Adhere to the University’s Student By-laws.
  8. Immediately notify the International Office at international@cdu.edu.au of any changes in visa status, as this may lead to the termination of the scholarship.
